Okay so here's the thing when you are a producer on the interweb. Some lovely person comes up to you with an idea on paper. It's usually a single image of a website that hasn't been built yet and a description of what it will do. Your job is to take that description and extract from it the items and actions that will actually be required to make it into a real thing.
You think of different pages, different forms, error messages, databases, content management requirements, dependencies. You think of a million things.
You think about them as much as humanly possible. And eventually they become a list. And the funny thing is that as you add each thing to the list you think of other things that are required because that one thing is required. It builds on itself.
Yesterday I learned that it's pretty much the same thing when you are producing video or photo content. Someone hands you a script or a description and you break it down into individual items and actions needed to pull it off. You make that list and you check it like two, three times and from that you extract timing and dollars required.
It's nothing special. It's just a way of seeing things.
I also learned yesterday that from medium to medium the biggest mistakes change, and the costs of those mistakes vary as well. You can't just start producing something brand new cause you been producing something else for hella long.
But still. There's got to be a way. I'm too grown to be at the bottom of the totem pole again. I been hustling too hard for that.
So I'll keep looking. And learning. And making cool shit.
But soon. Very soon. I'll be making more and more and more.
Yawn.
Re: my personal life. My social life. Ups and downs drain me. Being forthright doesn't seem to help and I can't think of any other way.
Gonna hide out until I can commit myself to face values, once again.
Sleep tight.
