I don't attempt to hide my moonlighting from my day job. I think that is because I would never want to work somewhere that didn't understand it. How it's woven into my life and integral to my everyday peace of mind.
Tonight my work friend who I'm going to Texas with texted me that it was a bad idea to work tonight. I texted back that I'd go fucking *crazy* if I didn't go to a hip-hop club once a week and that my Thursday night parties are mandatory. Even if I'm about to head out to a business trip.
I need to stay grounded, and that's work for me.
The awesome thing about the people I encounter on Thursday nights is that even though they are just their representatives (just like I am) they are very open about whether or not they get a good vibe from me. I enjoy that, and nights like these remind me of the fact that I can choose to be positive about a situation or negative about a situation.
Everything that happens is in my head, anyway. So why would I choose to make that uncomfortable territory?
So it rolls off of me. Well. The bad stuff does. The good stuff I soak in like the sun. I lean into it, like I'm a plant. I'll never disagree with someone singing my praises. Whether or not I think they are being accurate.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
The last drink I ordered was a Red Bull, straight up. I have about an hour of packing left to do, then maybe I can manage a to doze off a bit, then I go to the airport for a 6:15 flight.
Once I get to Austin, all bets are off.
Yeehaw.
Will send reports from the road and keep you posted on the important pieces of my journey. First order of business is jumping on the bed in my hotel room. After that, it's anybody's guess.
Good night.
Or rather.
Good morning.
What an absolutely beautiful picture of beautiful people. A perfect moment. NICE.
ReplyDeleteI dig what you mean about the moonlighting. You have found the genius of giving energy, sure have.
Proposal; write a book of your party/travel/Jessica Rabbit hair tips. This could be the intro. I am so serious.
RH - you continually give me the best encouragement ever. I'm learning more every day, pretty soon I'll get down to business.
