I could nurse a million crushes, slow and simmering, without breaking a sweat. This is because there is

one for the nightclub
one for the museum
one for backstage
one for the beach
one for the office
one who looks good on paper
one who just looks good
one for 3 AM
one for my birthday
one who is honest
one who is strange
one who is good at math
one who draws pictures
one who draws pictures of me
one who drinks like a sailor
one who has straight edges
one who is calm
one who is a madman

and so on.

I can consolidate. I have before. And that's charming and all but then it's one huge ball of intensity. It is almost impossible to take in all at once.

So I compartmentalize. It is much easier that way.

I went to XYZ earlier tonight and sat by the fire drinking tequila laced with cayenne pepper. I think it's gonna be a stormy night in my dreams.
