Yesterday was a wash. I woke up at 9 or something, but then had fruit salad and blunts and mimosas for breakfast. And you know that meant a nap at like 11 that lasted until well into the afternoon. I spent the rest of the day working out and perfecting various lounging positions on my couch, which is surprisingly sturdy to be so small and adorable.
I played Nintendo.
I went on one walk, to get bubble gum ice cream from this place down the street. I love bubble gum ice cream. Like. Officially. I want a t-shirt that says that.
And a three finger ring with my first and middle names on it.
Life is shiny.
I went to bed nice and early and my dreams were really good so I slept until almost noon. I dressed sort of like a doll and by the time I left the house I was pretty tartish looking, but very satisfied to balance that out. Kind of in my own world. Already thinking about tomorrow.
A co-worker of mine commissioned me to make some cushions for a bench in his backyard. I like this project because it will pay well and it's challenging. It's about structure and engineering as well as aesthetics. I did the simple stuff today: he gave me a picture that suggested a color scheme and I spent today collecting samples and making him this.
Which was super quick to throw together and will make it easier for him and his girlfriend to choose a fabric. Or at least to get closer to what we will eventually use, you know?
Half of my day job is just like my life and seems inescapable. Presenting ideas to people, and trying to frame things in a way that the most important information is at the forefront. And adherence to artistic considerations, which dictate doing all of this very gracefully.
And doing everything. Literally and figuratively. On one page whenever I can (everywhere but here, ha!), because people have short attention spans.
Also?
I love this monkey!
I'm supposed to be writing. Like. For realsies. So lately a lot of time has been spent procrastinating. Which gives me the opportunity to walk aimlessly on Haight and find stuff like this:
Yummmmmm. Peach and clear at the same time.
Or so I thought. But I'm not sure I like the way they taste. Imma buy more flavors.
Yesterday I ordered hell of Japanese food so my whole life is katsu, for the last 24 hours. It's delicious but for dinner tonight I think I'm just gonna eat a whole pineapple, or something else that hasn't been fried. Or dipped in delicious hot mustard.
Happy Sunday.
